Beaches, viewpoints, restaurants, villages, sports and activities near Villa Lina Málaga — a guide from the owners, with real distances and how long each takes by car.
Great quality fish food for decent pricing. Set at the iconic strip of fish food restaurants (called chiringuito) in Pedregalejo beach. We can highly recommend their enormous barbecue squid, espetos (grilled sardines) and boquerones (fried anchovies). At the end of the meal we recommend ordering a “Patxaran”, digestive alcoholic beverage.
Tip: If you want to eat paella, let them know a day before since this can’t be ordered on the same day.

Chill beach bar located in Pedregalejo, with a great variety in types of food so anyone can find something to their liking. Our favourites: Vietnamese spring rolls, baguette Rick Lopez, red curry, patatas bravas. The setting is fantastic right in front of the beach.
Tip: you can also rent paddleboards!

Although the sand on the beach is dark. It makes up for it by the atmosphere. Pedregalejo beach is packed with fish restaurants, fun bars, volleyball nets and sun lounger rentals. You can sometimes spot dolphins. It is only a 20 minute walk from our house.
About an hour walk from our house you arrive at a beach that feels completely different from the city beaches. It is surrounded by cliffs and has a huge rock (peñon) in the middle of the water. By car it’s a 5 minute drive.
Just a 12 minute walk from our villa you find this beautiful viewpoint. Keep on walking for a nice easy hike along the mountain with beautiful views over Malaga. When you leave the villa, take right and when the road splits you take left. Now just follow the road up the mountain. You can take side paths to explore and enjoy the nature on your way up to the view point. See where the villa sits.
From our villa it is about an hour hike. You can also drive up by car and only hike the last part which is half an hour. The first part is easy but the last 10 minutes to get to the cross you will need to climb up the mountain and need to be in good physical shape. For the last part we highly recommend wearing hiking shoes, especially for the way down when it can get slippery. The views from the cross are absolutely stunning.

Best spot to watch the sun set over Malaga enjoying a drink upstairs at the bar.
Tip: food in general is average here and the service quite slow. Best for enjoying a sunset drink.
Just next to this hotel there is a fantastic viewpoint. From here you can take a beautiful walk down to the Alcazaba, with various viewpoints and beautiful gardens along the way.
Amazing rooftop bar with views all over Malaga. Great for a break and a drink.
Rooftop bar with the best views over the Alcazaba, the port and the cathedral. But, it gets very busy here and nowadays you have to pay to get up (during high season). Food is not great and the service is slow.
You can very easily book tennis & padel courts via the Playtomic app: https://app.playtomic.com/
Just a 3 minute walk from our house is a big tennis and padel club. You can easily rent a court via the app Playtomic. They also have a nice restaurant with good food.

It’s a 25 minute walk from our house and you can book it also via the app Playtomic.
Maybe the most beautiful village of Andalucia. Highly recommended! Afterwards you can combine it with a visit to Nerja, also a very cute village with very nice beaches next to the Balcon de Europa.
Comares is a bit of a hidden gem. Lovely little village with old Moorish castles and streets.
